I recently wrote about the importance of ensuring residential property management staff across Northern Virginia receive their proper spot on the COVID-19 vaccine distribution list given their important role as essential employees helping keep our now much larger work-from-home workforce safe.
Last week, the Apartment and Office Building Association of Metropolitan Washington (AOBA) released updated information providing guidance on vaccine eligibility for property management employees and maintenance staff.
Property management employees in Virginia will be eligible to receive the vaccine in Phase 1C. This includes leasing, maintenance, building engineers, and other on-site personnel. Employers may pre-register individuals for vaccination, and they will be notified when it is time to make a vaccination appointment. Visit the Virginia Department of Health statewide pre-registration system here. Please keep in mind if trying to book an appointment in Fairfax County that the county has opted out of using the state system, and residents there are urged to continue preregistering on the county’s site.
It is important to note that you do not need to be a Virginia resident. Virginia is currently in Phase 1B.
