NVAA Presents Annual Property Management Awards and Scholarships
Arlington, VA (December 10, 2021)—The Northern Virginia Apartment Association (NVAA) presented its annual awards and scholarships at its 2021 Holiday Gala last night honoring the best in the business in Northern Virginia multi-family housing and property management.
“NVAA was thrilled to reboot our annual awards program this year, including the addition of a new award, with the return of our in-person Holiday Gala,” said Patrick Algyer, NVAA Executive Director. “The past two years have been trying for so many, including our industry. The residential rental industry is a resilient one, however, and these awards are a tribute to how our community pulled together to support each other, their tenants, and the multi-family housing industry as a whole. I am honored to present such deserving companies and individuals with this year’s NVAA awards.”
2021 NVAA Annual Awards winners:
Director Emeritus Award: Jan Haub, Paradigm Companies
In recognition of extraordinary support for the industry throughout one’s career. Jan becomes just the 17th person honored with the Director Emeritus Award in the association’s 65-year history.
Property Management Company of the Year: Gates Hudson
In recognition of the history of the company, the company’s past year accomplishments, and engagement with NVAA.
Associate Member Company of the Year: Donald Steinman Electric
In recognition of the company’s past year accomplishments and engagement with NVAA.
Onsite Team Member Award: Walter Alfaro, Dittmar
In recognition of excellence in on-site performance by a Maintenance Supervisor or Technician.
Onsite Team Member Award: Chrisline Baldo, Dittmar
In recognition of excellence in on-site performance by a Property Manager. *This is a new award in 2021.
Outstanding Associate Member Individual of the Year Award: Larry Edmonds, American Pest/Capitol Pest
In recognition of an Associate Member individual for their contributions to the multifamily industry, NVAA and the community.
Greatest Contribution to NVAA by an Individual: Gerald Pierce, Reinsch Companies
In recognition of an individual who has provided support and service above and beyond regular volunteerism to NVAA.
Rising Star Award: Denilso Vigil, Reinsch Companies
In recognition of an individual who has entered the property management profession within the last 3 years.
NVAA also annually awards $1,000 scholarships to Northern Virginia property management members and their staff seeking to further their education in a field broadly related to multi-family housing. This includes but is not limited to property management, development or construction of real estate, architecture, engineering, and law.
“The NVAA scholarships are an essential part of our mission to support and grow our industry,” said NVAA Board President Gerald Pierce. “We are so pleased to present our scholarship recipients with an opportunity to enhance their careers by supporting their professional development.”
